MARISA L. JEFFREY

Associate

Marisa Jeffrey handles insurance coverage disputes for the firm’s policyholder clients, from personal lines disputes for high net-worth individuals to complex commercial insurance litigation for the firm’s business clients. Marisa also has primary responsibility at the firm for managing non-attorney staff on large-scale discovery projects.

Before joining the firm, Marisa gained valuable courtroom experience in her first year of practice, handling substantive hearings as first- or second-chair, including disputes over jurisdiction, international service, and due process.

During law school, Marisa clerked for several respected Dallas litigation firms, focusing primarily on complex commercial litigation. She contributed to high-stakes cases involving business fraud, breach of contract, and bankruptcy as she performed research, drafted motions and participated in extensive discovery. Marisa also clerked for Justice Elizabeth Lang-Miers on the Dallas Court of Appeals and was selected as chief counsel for the SMU W.W. Caruth Child Advocacy Clinic in her last year of law school.

With her strong litigation background, sound judgment, and relentless work ethic, Marisa demonstrates a solid commitment to providing client-centered, effective, and efficient representation to the firm’s clients.
